A new app for NemID will make it easy and quick to log in using NemID.

The NemID code-app allows Danes to swipe an authorisation, for example when they are to pay a bill or apply for unemployment benefits. The app works in the same way as ordinary mobile-phone payment services. The app means you do not have to enter a code from your code card.

Danes like digitisation, and both the young and the old are keeping up with developments. We can see there’s great demand for user-friendly digital solutions, and we’re doing all we can to accommodate this. The NemID code-app is a good example of how we can help people in their everyday life.

A digital add-on

The NemID code-app has been developed by the public sector and the Danish banks as an add-on to the existing paper-based code card for anyone who wants it.

Danes are now very familiar with NemID and the code card; they’re satisfied and have confidence in the high level of security in the solution. Therefore, we’re very happy that we can retain the physical NemID code card as we know it today, but also provide an additional digital solution for people who prefer to have everything on their mobile.

The NemID code memory stick will also continue unchanged.

The app works on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, and is now available for download.

A secure add-on

The NemID code-app is as secure as the NemID code card. The app has the same level of security as the NemID code card, and therefore it fully lives up to the NemID security standards.

Facts

Five million Danes have NemID, and every month they use the solution 65 million times to check their online banking, use borger.dk (a single-point of access to all digital public services) or to shop on the internet.

More than 367.075 Danes have preliminary downloaded the new app for NemID. The app was launched may 29th, and has since been one of the most popular apps in both App Store and Google Play.
