The following terms and conditions apply to the use of the Danish driving licence app.
The driving licence app may only be installed and used on your personal mobile phone.
You can only use the driving licence app on one mobile phone at a time. If you set up the driving licence app on another phone, you will be given the option to reset the driving licence app you previously installed. The reset driving licence app will then not be valid.
If you no longer want to use the driving licence app on your mobile phone, you must reset it either via the app itself or by the self-service solution on borger.dk and delete the app from your mobile phone.
The driving licence app is a supplement to the physical driving licence, and the app does not replace your physical driving licence. You must therefore keep your physical driving licence, but you can keep it at home, when driving in Denmark.
You can only use the driving licence app in Denmark, so remember to bring your physical driving licence when driving abroad.
It is your responsibility to be able to present your driving licence to the police upon request. You risk getting a fine, if you are not able to present your digital driving licence due to your mobile phone being out of battery, or if the screen is broken.
The driving licence app follows the validity of your physical driving licence. If you renew your physical driving licence or receive a new physical driving licence, you must set up your driving licence app again.
You can only use the driving licence app on one mobile phone at a time. If you set up a new iPhone from a backup of your previous iPhone, your digital driving licence will not be transferred. Therefore, you will need to set up the driving licence app on your new iPhone.
Photosensitive persons should not look directly at the stream of QR codes under the “Inspection” section of the driving licence app.
An internet connection is not required when presenting a police QR code. However, the app requires internet connection if you are asked to present a QR code as ID when, for example, picking up packages at the post office.
You have a non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the driving licence app on your personal mobile phone within the framework of these terms of use, while it is available from the Danish Agency for Digital Government. You have no rights concerning the driving licence app besides this right of use. The Danish Agency for Digital Government may revoke or change your right to use the driving licence app at any time.
The Danish Agency for Digital Government has no liability for damages to your mobile phone, loss of data, lost profits, or other damages caused by the driving licence app. The Danish Agency for Digital Government does not guarantee that the driving licence app is available and has full functionality if you, as a user of the app, do not follow the instructions given in the app and in these terms of use.
The Danish Agency for Digital Government may at any time, and without any obligation to inform you in advance, change the app and its features, design, scope, software, language versions, and other aspects relevant to the app.
When you download and use the driving licence app, you leave electronic traces. The Danish Agency for Digital Government collects the following data from your device: which mobile device you use, which operating system your mobile device runs, and which IP address you are using, data on whether the security of your device is intact, (e.g. that it is not jailbroken/rooted) and information about technical crashes.
The Danish Agency for Digital Government use these data for solving technical errors and to name your device so you can identify it in case you need to reset your driving licence app via the self-service solution on borger.dk. The electronic traces are not used to collect any of your personal data.
To increase usability and expand the use of the driving licence app, The Danish Agency for Digital Government collects technical data for its own use to analyze how the app works, and which features may need to be improved. These technical data are not personally identifiable information.
