The first versions of Digital Post have been natural steps towards a more digital society in which communication is increasingly digitised.

User satisfaction survey

Every year M.B.C and the Agency for Digital Government carry out a nationwide satisfaction survey concerning Digital Post.

The survey from 2025 shows that 81 % of asked citizens are “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with Digital Post. Likewise 60 % of asked enterprises are “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with Digital Post.

Digital Post shipments in 2025

The quarterly statement of shipments in Digital Post shows that public authorities sent 253.774.703 million messages as Digital Post in 2025.

Registered and exempted users of Digital Post according to age

The statement per the first quarter of 2026 shows that 4.860.331 citizens are registered with Digital Post and 238.479 citizens are exempt from Digital Post.

Digital Post notifications

The survey from the 8th of February 2022 shows that a majority of Danish citizens use the notification service to receive a text- or e-mail notice when receiving new Digital Post:

  • 4,510,972 citizens have signed up to receive notice per e-mail.
  • 4,412,974 citizens have signed up to receive notice per text.
  • 4,167,478 citizens have signed up to receive notice per e-mail and text.

Notice: Digital Post-notices is not the same as NemSMS. Public authorities use NemSMS to communicate service-messages of e.g. appointments with the public services to citizens, businesses and other enterprises, whereas Digital Post notifications alone notifies an owner of a digital mailbox of new post from public authorities.
