The first versions of Digital Post have been natural steps towards a more digital society in which communication is increasingly digitised.
Every year Statistics Denmark and the Agency for Digital Government carry out a nationwide satisfaction survey concerning Digital Post.
The survey from 2021 shows that 83 % of asked citizens are “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with Digital Post. Likewise 64 % of asked enterprises are “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with Digital Post.

The quarterly statement of shipments in Digital Post shows that public authorities sent 62.323.147 million messages as Digital Post to public authorities, companies and citizens in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The survey from the 8th of February 2022 shows that a majority of Danish citizens use the notification service to receive a text- or e-mail notice when receiving new Digital Post:
Notice: Digital Post-notices is not the same as NemSMS. Public authorities use NemSMS to communicate service-messages of e.g. appointments with the public services to citizens, businesses and other enterprises, whereas Digital Post notifications alone notifies an owner of a digital mailbox of new post from public authorities.
