Division for AI, Analysis and Inclusion

The division for Analysis and Strategy develops political initiatives in close cooperation with public and private stakeholders. The division supports digitization in the public sector to benefit citizens and promotes the digital development of Danish enterprises to create economic growth.

Digitization policy

The Division develops and coordinates new digital political initiatives targeted at both citizens, businesses and the public sector. It plays an important role in facilitating the joint digitisation efforts of the central government, the Danish municipalities and the Danish regions i.e. through the overall management of joint digital strategies. Simultaneous the division engages in ongoing dialogues with business organisations and other stakeholders regarding the digital development of Danish enterprises.

Digital Inclusion

The Division works to ensure that residents in Denmark experience an inclusive, user-centred and coherent public digital service, and receive the help and guidance needed.

The digitization of the public sector in Denmark is based on a principle of accessibility for all. Navigating the digital society can be complex for many reasons – e.g. due to disabilities, lack of digital skills, or lack of knowledge and overview of the public sector.

Enterprises' digital development

Digitisation helps raise companies' productivity and competitiveness. However, digital investments can be a big step – especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The division is responsible for running the national program SME:Digital, which helps SMEs with digital transition to create economic growth. Enterprises can apply for funding for counselling on digital transition, investments in new technology and receive guidance.

SME:Digital currently runs until 2025 and has given support to more than 7,000 digital projects from 2018 to 2025.

Analyses of the digital society

In order to ensure that political and strategic initiatives are based on a solid knowledge base, the division regularly publishes analyses on, for example citizens trust in public digital solutions, ways to simplify enterprises’ reporting to public authorities and developments in enterprises use of digital technologies.

Danish language technology

To develop and share language data, models and tools that can support better Danish language technology solutions is also a central task for the division.

This includes work related to the joint public platform, sprogteknologi.dk, which is a central portal for the collection and development of language resources in Danish. The resources are free to use for all with interest in artificial intelligence.

In collaboration with public actors, private organizations and research institutions, the division is also involved in projects such as the development of a central word register and a transcribed Danish-language speech corpus.
